Embodiment Coaching

Simply put, the goal of embodiment coaching is to help you get more connected to your body. The reasons for this could be many, but the reason it can be so powerful and transformative is that it is based on the idea that the body contains important information about our thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
By re-establishing full connection to your body you can access this important information and use it intentionally. The process of training yourself to feel, explore and interpret what your body can tell you, helps to reorientate your choices according to what you really want. It empowers you to gain agency in your emotional life and to decide what is right for you, now, as well as what is wrong for you.

With embodiment we are shifting into a paradigm where our body gets to play too. Our body gets to move in different ways, to find your root, to be able to move softly and with grace, or to stand and be strong. The body gets to teach us about possibilities, freedom of movement and emotion. The body becomes an integrated part of our process and can inform our decisions.
Our body gets to guide us towards a balanced state of health in mind, body and spirit, of our masculine and feminine energies, our yin and yang, our emotions and our thoughts, our actions, present and future.

Why Is Embodiment Needed?
The problem is that most of us are disconnected from our bodies.
- Sometimes through a traumatic episode or physical injury, the nervous system reacts by cutting off some of the connection
- Sometimes through chronic pain or repetitive movement or postural habits we lose touch with areas of potential
- Sometimes the long term chronic stress of work and living with the constant sensory stimulation of the world today builds up to the point we start to dissociate, the mind disconnected from the body.
- Or it may that you just never have felt a connection to your body for reasons you can’t identify
The work of embodiment is that of cultivating DEEP trust in our bodies when we’ve been living in a world that constantly strips it away from us.

What does embodiment coaching with us look like?
The principle tools we use to help train people to build body awareness, and establish the solid interaction of mind and body communication that embodiment means are:
- Qigong exercises which help build awareness of the energy and structure of the body
- Breathwork and mindfulness practises you can use to centre yourself and settle your nervous systematically
- Somatic therapy techniques which can help release tension in the body through awareness
- Neuromuscular re-patterning exercises to optimise movement and build strength through awareness.
But most importantly the process is centred around you and your goals and needs. We conduct a thorough onboarding session where we help you identify what you want to achieve from the coaching process, and precisely where you want to be in your life.
