These Coaching options are focused on helping your development toward optimal health, feeling great in yourself, gaining control over your pain or dysfunction and being a happier and more embodied you.

They are not focused on how you look, no pain no gain, and feeling the burn. In fact we like ‘Know Pain, No Gain- No Pain, Know gain’ better (Seen on a Yoga teachers T-shirt). So if your main thing is getting a 6-pack and biceps as big as your head, this is not the place.

However if you want to be guided to move smoothly, freely and with control, find pleasure in your body instead of discomfort, and find a system of exercise that can be tailored to your needs and leaves you feeling good instead of done- then look a little deeper.

Duncan and Bridget have different skills and experience, but ultimately the methods used in these areas are drawn from the same places. What we do is use different blends in the different contexts, and personalising the process for your individual needs.

  • Using the GMB method of bodyweight exercise we can build strength flexibility and control for everyday resilience and towards higher level movement skills.
  • In the ancient Chinese practice of Qigong you can learn a system of movement like a meditation which at once keeps the body supple and strong and also calms the mind and nervous system. For relaxation or recovery.
  • Bridget is a highly experienced teacher and teacher trainer in Pilates, which is an advanced method that goes beyond a flat tummy and toned limbs to become a powerful system for realigning the body and building strength from within.

The mission we have set ourselves at Acubody is to help people develop the agency to be powerful in themselves through body awareness and connection. So much of what we see in the clinic or the Pilates studio, the pain or discomfort, the sense of disconnection, alienation and anxiety is related to body awareness and a lack of embodiment.
