ACUBODY THERAPIES USES A VARIETY OF THERAPIES IN COMBINATION

ACUBODY THERAPIES USES A VARIETY OF THERAPIES IN COMBINATION

Acubody Therapies uses a range of different treatments, some in combination with others, in order to treat a variety of conditions. We combine traditional Chinese medicine with the best of Western practice in order to obtain the optimal result for each patient. Thus no two treatments are exactly the same, because no two people are exactly the same.

A lot of people come to us for London sports injury therapy even if they don’t actually play sports. Any activity that is carried out repetitively can leave the body with minor injury and soreness of the muscles. This includes such things as gardening, DIY, carrying heavy bags, or even just sitting for long periods as so many office workers in London do.

Our sports injury therapy very often includes techniques such as soft tissue release which uses pressure on a sore point and involves movement on the part of the patient. Muscle energy technique is another therapy which involves using the patient’s muscle contraction in order to assist in stretching and retuning the muscle to its’ normal resting position.

Acupuncture is another therapy that we use very successfully in London. It is best known as a treatment for pain and has great results treating back pain, hip pain, knee pain, headache, neck pain, shoulder pain, and migraines. In many instances the underlying problem is to do with muscle tension and trigger points.

Acupuncture has become widespread in the West over the last forty years or so, although it has been practiced in China for many centuries. It is based on the theory that much pain is a result of the flow of energy in the body, or as the Chinese call it Qi, having become out of balance, and the purpose of acupuncture is to restore that balance. Certain points in the acupuncture channels in the body are stimulated by the insertion of very fine needles which has the effect of rebalancing the flow of energy and as a result relieving the pain.

In combination with acupuncture we often use London Chinese herbs which have been refined over the centuries and assist in the overall results.

Another therapy that we use at Acubody is Shiatsu. This is a Japanese type of bodywork and the word means “finger pressure”. The therapist works along the whole of the body using pressure from his fingers and thumbs. It is particularly useful for depression and anxiety.
