SPORTS INJURIES AND MORE ARE TREATED AT ACUBODY CLINIC IN HOLBORN

Acubody in Holborn is a major sports injury clinic in London and treats many patients who have suffered from injuries in contact sports such as rugby, football, wrestling, boxing, martial arts, kickboxing, karate, jiu jitsu, and more. All of these can result in damage to muscles and joints which can be relieved by Chinese Traditional Medicine, Swedish massage, Chinese herbs and more.

Of course, many other sports which are not contact sports can result in some extremely painful and sometimes serious injuries. Horse racing is one such, but even horse riding where there is no actual competition can cause injuries if a horse simply gets spooked and throws the unaware rider.

Many such incidents can result in painful injuries which can be treated with Chinese Traditional Medicine. Acupuncture can provide considerable pain relief from damaged muscles, however they were caused, and it is not always the result of sports injuries. Very many similar injuries can be the result of something as simple as sitting hunched over a computer all day, carrying a load that is too heavy, digging the garden, or – the case of ladies – simply being pregnant and carrying a child. In these cases acupuncture may help, or it might be a case where a sports massage would be appropriate.

Sports massage is based on Swedish massage and releases tensions, promotes blood circulation, and breaks down adhesions – or knots – where the muscles have become too tense and are unable to relax. The massage often includes certain techniques such as soft tissue release, and muscle energy technique. Soft tissue release uses pressure on a sore or tight point and involves movement on the part of the client, while muscle energy technique uses muscle contraction to assist the muscle to stretch and relax.

All of the therapies that the practitioners at Acubody undertake are specific to the individual client. They may be used on their own or in combination, depending on the particular problem from which the client is suffering.
